Montraker Live Music Festival is held, just like “Casanovafest“, at the public beach area of the Montraker zone of entertainment and recreation, an extremely attractive part of the Vrsar coast. It has been organized as a part of the summer music offer for those who visit Vrsar as well as for the local population, as a festival hosting well-known and quality Croatian and foreign jazz, ethno, blues and gospel musicians. The first edition of the festival already attracted a large audience.
The Montraker Live 2009 Festival was held for three days in mid July. Every evening two concerts were held, starting at 10.00 p.m.
The first concert was of a more intimate, acoustic atmosphere, while the other had a stronger, more electronic rhythm. The Montraker Live 2009 Festival was opened by Tamara Obrovac and Matija Dedić, followed by the Guitarland sextet from Italy, a unique music project with six guitar players of a peculiar style. The next day we saw the performance of Daniele di Bonaventura & Black Coffee, a Croatian-Italian band who have just published their first album, followed by Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm, a blues band from the south of the USA. The festival was closed by the performance of the excellent Damir Kukuruzović Gipsy Jazz Quartet and Roy Roberts Blues Band from South Carolina.
The festival was organized by the Vrsar Municipality and the Vrsar Municipality Tourist Board, its music director is Svetozar Rackov.
